Titjikala art programme began at the Womens' Centre.
We used to go to the Alice Springs Sunday markets every fortnight to raise money for our artists - this was the only place we could sell our artwork.
In 1999, we started planning for the construction of the Art Centre and recieved Commonwealth Government funding in 2000 to commence building.

We opened the first part of the Art Centre in 2002, making an area for our artists to work as well as a small gallery to show and display their work.
In 2006 we built a new gallery onto our Art Centre and it was officially opened in 2007.
